Shadowside And Why It Can’t Be Canon

I wouldn’t be so against Shadowside if the conditions of it’s happening ACTUALLY MADE SENSE.

Hear me out; apparently Nate can’t see the Yo-kai anymore because he grew up, right? But there are PLENTY adults in both anime and games that can see Yo-kai? Nate’s Grandma for one, with the marble in her glasses.

Clearly an adult, clearly using a Yo-kai Watch, CLEARLY able to SEE and INTERACT WITH Yo-kai.

So, no, I don’t hate shadowside. The idea actually looks pretty cool. But why can’t you do it with Nate? Give him a consistent personality, have him hang out and have adventures with the other Watch Holders (we never found out what happened to Yuuto after the second movie). At least give a plausible reason for Nate to have forgotten about Yo-kai, or have him secretly help his kids on their adventures. Don’t use half-baked excuses to justify a reboot and change main characters bc you just couldn’t be bothered with the “average” you currently have.

also i love how during the entirety of the existence of yokai they all decided to just change their appearance and personalities 30 years after nate gets a watch lmao

Besides, 1. It being canon doesn’t mean that there aren’t plot holes big enough to drive a bus through them, so my post’s still valid 2. …has it been actually, 100% confirmed that it isn’t set in a different continuity?

I DON’T HATE SHADOWSIDE, it’s just that it would be nice if the writers gave a plausible reason to why Nate no longer had the Yo-kai Watch, and stopped pushing characters aside when they found no more use for them. And please back your theories with facts. Hailey is the same age as Nate. If he lost the ability to see Yo-kai bc he “grew up” (as flimsy as that excuse is) then the same should happen to Hailey Anne.
